“This morning I captured my absolute HOLY GRAIL shots
Those two Otters were still fishing for Pike Minnow behind my house. I went out very early – before the sun had fully risen – to watch one of the Otters feasting on the beach. Yet I was distracted by the distress calls of some Crows down river. I have only heard calls like that once before – when a Mountain Lion passed by across the river. So I followed the sounds and my intuition, using the tools I have learned in my years of stalking. I searched for quite a while beneath the noisy Crows, walking back and forth to change my perspective of the brush across the way. And then, lo and behold, I saw something hidden. I raised my camera and focused in – finding my prey. A beautiful Mountain Lion, resting. It was safely across the river and although it was very aware of my presence, it felt safe to close it’s eyes now and then. I spoke to it (psychically, as I do with wildlife) telling it I was it’s friend and a safe person. We spent an entire hour together! It was amazing!
