About County Line Wild:

My name is Talia Rose, and for the past 10 years I’ve been photo-documenting the wild-life in my backyard, along the South Fork of the Eel River, right smack on the Humboldt/Mendocino County Line. 

My journey began with a Bald Eagle, who spent it’s mornings in a tree across the river, prompting me to pick up a camera. In the years that followed, the wildlife along our river revealed itself to me in layers, as I spent more time wandering our valley.  I walk and sit along the river every morning, photo-journaling what I see. The otter families that travel our river have come to know me, and I them. 

I report all my sightings and photos to HSU River Otter Citizen Science Project and others who monitor the health of our river. Each season, each year, each cycle – I come to know the wildlife that lives along our beautiful river a little deeper…..
