Description
“Close encounters with the Elk. I hiked out along the coastal trail until I came upon the herd of Elk. It was very early in the morning and I was alone. I thought I would sit high up in the meadow and watch the Elk, but as soon as I entered the meadow, they began to come towards me – at first a few – and then the entire herd of 35 Elk, moving closer and not all that slowly. They were all mama Elk and young ones, perhaps last years babies. They backed me up to the ravine and I made my way back to the trail, getting the hint. This one Elk followed all the way, almost to the creek, making sure I was leaving. I continued to watch them from safely across the creek.” – Talia Rose, County Line Wild
